The robust original design has been constantly improved and has advanced accordingly both in mechanical terms and in terms of electrical technology.
With screens, the volume of water they must handle, the total obstruction they have to bear, and the separation between bars must be taken into consideration, among other things. Analysing all of the above factors facilitates the design of a uniformly balanced grid which meets customer requirements.In any situation the installation of the appropriate screen is very important. A very strong screen which does not allow water to flow is useless. On the other hand, there must be sufficient rigidity to prevent the screen from collapsing under the pressure of the water. Over the years we have installed screens in a wide variety of sizes ranging from 1m x 1m to huge sections of tens of metres. Each of them have their own considerations and every case is analysed in order to comply with the customer's needs.In special cases, where the rate of water flow is very high, hydrodynamic bars with an improved Kirschner Coefficient are installed. Sometimes it is enough with a hot rolled profile with a coefficient slightly higher than the norm, and other times it is necessary to machine the bars individually. In our continual quest for improvement we have sourced and successfully brought to market hot rolled bars with a Kirschner Coefficient of 0.9, as opposed to the 2.4 of a standard bar. Being hot rolled instead of individually machined is a very economical solution. In these special cases hydrodynamic support beams or fish beams are installed.
